The addition of DHA/ ARA supplements to infant formulas has grown in popularity over the past several years. Now, it seems as though DHA is added to everything, our infant formulas, our milk, our yogurt, juice, and the list goes on and on. Although there has been positive research done regarding this supplementation, when did it become the right of the manufacturer to add it directly to our foods, especially our infant formulas?

I’m concerned about the volume of unhealthy ingredients used to produce the foods in my family’s diet. I constantly struggle with what I can purchase within my limited food budget and think I do a pretty good job purchasing healthy products. I have always preferred to purchase organic, but recently have settled in some cases for “natural” products. However, I’m coming across more and more articles like the one below that warn consumers not to be fooled by some manufacturer’s labeling of so called “natural” products.
