Thank you for making PediaSmart® available to the public. It's a great product particularly as it relates to my boys, ages 8 and 10. Each have ADHD and while they are impacted by it in different ways, they take medications that suppress appetite mid-day. So proper nourishment early AM and later PM is key. Each use the PediaSmart® Chocolate product, with milk (cow, soy, or rice) as a supplement to AM/PM meals, and by itself mid-day when there is a real lack of appetite but when an energy boost is required.
The manner in which we make the PediaSmart® shakes gets the boys about 600-700 calories, and gives them well rounded nutrition. After almost a year of using the product, their progress on weight and physical development has been great. Also, over the course of a year we have come up with a couple of different uses for the product that we really enjoy, Chocolate Crockpot Oatmeal, and PediaSmart® Blueberry Slush.
Chocolate Crockpot Oatmeal
Crockpot
4 cups milk, cow, soy, rice
1 cup PediaSmart® Chocolate
1 cup steel cut oats.
Mix PediaSmart® , milk and oats and then put into crockpot before bed. Cook all night on low. It's ready to eat in the morning.
PediaSmart® Blueberry Slush
One other informal recipe I do is a blueberry, rice milk and PediaSmart® "shake"
Put 2/3 cup frozen blueberries in a cup, add rice milk until blueberries are submerged, then add 2 tablespoons PediaSmart® Chocolate (or vanilla). Stir until PediaSmart® is mixed. The frozen blueberries rice milk and PediaSmart® all frost up and the result is a shake w/out using a blender and chopping the heck out of the berries.
